Sublime Quran

Peace.

Has anyone here got The Sublime Quran translation by Laleh Bakhtiar? What do you think?

http://www.sublimequran.org/

It sounds interesting and I wanted to ask about one of the versions: Concordance of the Sublime Quran

"The Concordance of the Sublime Quran serves the need of those who do not know the Arabic language, but want to understand the Quran. This work is a translation and transliteration of the Arabic Concordance known as al-Mujim al-mufahris. This all-English work shows the semantic structure of the Arabic vocabulary in order to arrive at the multiple meanings of Arabic three and four letter roots and their derivatives. Divided into three parts, Part 1: Contents lists the 3673 transliterated Arabic derivatives of all verbs, nouns and some particles in the Quran. Part 2: Text lists the transliterated derivatives, their grammatical structure and English translation followed by the verses in which the word appears in The Sublime Quran. Part 3: Index lists the 6000+ words used in the translation followed by reference to the derivative found in both Part 1: Contents and Part 2: Text."

I don't fully understand what they are saying in the blurb but it sounds like it would be helpful for someone like me who doesn't speak Arabic and to be honest I don't have current plans to learn. Has anyone seen this version?

I wish I could have a look at it before spending the money  :-\

Wakas:
peace/salaam,

I have heard if you know the right people you can get access to many books  ;)

Here is the intro: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29140690/Introduction-to-Sublime%20Quran.pdf

The author sent it to me herself. I have also spoken with her. Her translation is decent, but I still prefer Asad's.

And as for the concordance, good idea, but one can do that stuff online for free. I have heard www.StudyQuran.org is good for that kind of thing.

crustinpeace:
Excellent Wakas, thanks for that. I couldn't find anywhere that let me look inside and see what it was like so this will be good.

Not a bad point about being able to do the same thing online AND you've just given me the link to another site I used to visit until I lost all my bookmarks!   :yay:

this is the best translation , when I read the two parts of the webpage, the closest to what i been studying, closest to the true translation
I LOVE IT

Loxbox13 it's really nice to hear you say that. I think when I have the money I am definitely going to order a copy - the basic english copies are really well priced anyway. I might not get the concordance version as realistically i may not get that much use out of it especially as Wakas suggested, when I can look up those things online for free. Thanks loxbox.  :)
