The Word: it converts Abstract Realm into Physical Realm

Zulf:
Interesting! This goes along very well with what one might call mind power. Through repetition of specific thoughts, or visualized images, or affirmed words and phrases, one can imprint new beliefs, or programs/code/tracks/grooves, onto one's subconscious mind, and thereby steering your outer reality in the direction you want. Simply put, Allah has gives us the capability to create our life by using the Word (conscious, deliberate and selected thoughts). The Word exists before it materializes into physical reality. For this to work efficiently enough, there are certain ways to go about it... techniques. It takes work and effort to control one's thoughts. Then things materialize by themselves according to Allah's system.

Peace

Mr.Q:
Say: "I do not posses for myself any harm or benefit except what God wills. For every nation is a time. When their time comes, they cannot delay it one hour nor advance it." (10:49)

No misfortune can happen on earth, or in yourselves, except as it is decreed in a record, before We bring it about. This is easy for God to do. In order that you do not despair over anything that passes you by, nor be happy of anything He has bestowed upon you. God does not love those who are boastful, proud. (57:22,23)

We do not possess any ability to manifest any good or harm to ourselves. Not by thinking, meditating, focusing on words or by our deeds. Only what God decrees and Wills for us happens, no matter what we do and nothing can stop it from happening. (35:2)

Yea, except what God wills. And who knows exactly what God wills? Does anyone know all about what God wills? Who knows all about Gods ways and systems? Let's not think too high of ourselves. There are lots we don't know.

Let's understand that we cannot override Allah and Allahs system of justice. It doesn't mean we are but zombie vegetables.

Is boastful and proud same as happy??? We should not be happy of what God has given us?? This is most definitely a wrong translation or interpretation. I guess we should be zombies then.

Allah tells us we should not despair, and we should trust in Allah and Allah's master scheme, which is for the betterment and justice of all. But we cannot be emotionless and unthankful for Allah's blessings.

Cool, so we can do anything and it won't affect us.... sounds reasonable. Let's forget about free will and doing good deeds then.

If I have not totally misunderstood your post, it seems you have no prior knowledge or experience with the powers of the mind. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Are there evidence pointing to that thinking thoughts in special ways have no effect on ones outer world? (apart from a human interpretation of the scripture). Where are the evidence that nullify all the practical evidence people have had consciously using their minds in anything from sports, to relationships and health?

Cheers

ps. if the tone of my post is felt as unpleasant, then I apologize for this. I'm just opposing the opinion put forth, not the person behind it. Peace!

IAMOP:
Let's make a distinction between words, concepts and thoughts. Thoughts do not exist immaterially by any means, they are patterns of nerve connections, they are as physical as it gets. Just as the space inside of you is the same space outside of you, a thought inside of you is the same as a thought outside of you (e.g. these very thoughts written here).

Concepts on the other hand are immaterial and we know this through mathematics - we don't create them but rather we discover them. Words are kind of halfway between concepts and thoughts and as said, bridge the gap between abstract and physical. But words in themselves are physical because they too represent patterns of nerve connections.

Regardless, the purpose of the universe's creation and the abstract realm are really intimately connected. And likewise the defining feature of humanity or human knowledge is language, that which bridges abstract and tangible: we fit to the universe like a glove to a hand.
