I'm tired of being alone in my beliefs
« on: May 09, 2012, 05:13:43 PM »
Hello everybody I grew up raised as a traditional sunni muslim. As I got older I started to feel myself questioning Hadith more and more. I came across this website and it helped solidify what I always was feeling. But since then for years I've pretty much distanced myself from the muslim community. I wish there more people who believed in the Quran Alone in my community and we could create a community that will eventually change traditional islam. I'm from the chicago area originally now I live in Michigan still not too far from chicago. I just feel like an outkast or something because my beliefs dont fall within traditional islam.

Hello Solo,

You are not alone. I know often times we feel as if we are in a lonely place. It is hard. I studied Islam for about ten years before I reverted. I think mostly it took so long because I was in denial and because I had to weed out all the cultural things people claim to be a part of Islam, once I did this Islam became even that much more beautiful for me.

There may not be a large community out there, but we are here. Right now our only real community is online but I hope in my heart that one day things will be even better. I also find comfort in thinking about how by taking this path we are closer to what the earliest Muslims did. Remember the reward is jannah.

Take Care

Welcome.

You should know that believing in the Quran alone does not save you from hadith. Hadiths have changed the meanings of a lot of words. Example salat isn't prayer and Allah is not a god.  The translations are a shadow of the accurate ones. If you want to go even further in your beliefs and establish firm ones, you should read articles on this website servantofthelight.com

Thank you for your replies brothers and sisters I guess I just miss being part of a community. Having like minded people in my community to interact with would be great but it is what it is. Thank you again
May Allah guide us all to the right path.

Yes I too get very lonely.
Sometimes I go to Jum'a just to be around other muslims,
but the mentioning of Muhammad in the athan gets me off to a bad start
then the khutbah begins, and many times the Imam says Muhammad more times than God.
Then we face the wrong Qiblah and................I go back to being lonely
I pray to God that one day in or near Philadelphia
WE WILL HAVE A GOD ALONE COMMUNITY!   O0

relect on the Garden of Eden
therein is the key monotheism

Peace

Hope you are able to find some friends or like minded folks.  Even on this site I don't feel connected...not sure how in the world I am going to make this transition.
