Salamun Alayekum is the correct way , wether one likes or not , if Jews say Shalom i have no problem with that , i would still say Salamun Alayekum. i wouldnt hide what Allah has taught me just because some one might get offended. we can still be nice and peaceful without compromising our belief and teachings of Quran

Islam does not have a language, Allah speaks all.

Salaam,

Did I say that to YOU?  :nope: I just said that I agreed with what Kamking said. InshaAllah soon, I will be opening a new thread on this.

Peace,

I agree with IAMOP.  Why would you say that if that isn't what they use?  You can translate it and say it in their tongue (Arabic) or English since that is the language everyone understands.  For example, when Muslims do Dawah I don't know why they talk to the Christians about "Allah" when the word is foreign.  You say "Allah" and they might automatically close their minds to any reason.  If you say God, it is more relatable to them.  In reality none of this really matters but in order to engage in a fruitful conversation, such things should be noted.

Shalom,

I can see what you are saying. Professional communication skills !! The method you said works well indeed.

However, the topic is not based around that. The thread is based on the close minded characteristics that amazed me. It goes like this:

Me: Shalom Aleikhom
They: Why do you say Shalom ?
ME: Shalom---->Salam--->Peace
They: You should not speak like jews, it is haram to immitate them, etc.

WHAT THE !!!!!!!!!! :brickwall:

That was my point.... my point was not "Dawah strategy: What to say and how to say". In that case, I clearly see that I should have chosen the methodology that you pointed out . :)

Peace Student of Allah,

I am aware that you are not trying to do dawah to them but I think you should look at some of them similarly to the way you see Christians.  In other words, they are sometimes just as hesitant.  This may be why they are not understanding of you because they have preconceived notions about the Yahudi.  I know that not all think this way.  I remember reading a couple of days ago about Mayor Bloomberg of New York giving (by accident) shalom's to Muslims during Ramadan.  They didn't take offense to it.

Shalom SoA,  :D

Sorry for late reply.

And sorry I cannot tell you which ones I dislike because I don't remember on what basis I disliked what :-\ but I just remember that I don't agree with some of your posts.

Don't take it so serious, it is just the matter of difference of opinion or on the basis of the knowledge that we have.

But still  :handshake:

Shalom aleikhom,

Ahh.. I feel better knowing that you dont hate me :) Since you disliked on the basis of "difference of opinion" and "possible difference in knowledge", I salute you , may peace be on you :)

Its good to know that there are people that disagrees with me on some things, I get the chance to review what I consider as true . :) The reason I believe in God alone and utilize Qur'an in life is because I was proven to be wrong many times over. So I like it.

I am just curious, so asking 2 questions:

1. Chocolate or Vanilla ?
2. Do you remember if you disagreed with my statements on what level ? Like "theology", "jurisprudence" , "science", "details of any rites" or "code 19" ?

May God guide you to success in this life and the next. And keep posting your "article like" threads, I like reading them.

PEACE

Salaam,

To the OP of this thread, may I ask why you addressed the traditional Muslims with a 'shalom' when you are aware that they use 'as-salaamu'alaikum' instead? Not that I will personally take 'shalom' and 'assalaamu'alaikum' differently, to me they mean the same since I embrace both languages. But clearly you are aware that they do not greet each other with a 'shalom' - so why not use a language/greeting that they understand/can relate?

:rotfl: :rotfl: If only.. they knew....

It always amaze me how ignorants anywhere around the globe behave in exactly the same manner..
The Arabs (al-arabu) are the worst in rejection and hypocrisy, and more likely not to know the limits of what God has sent upon His messenger

And yes it's written as Al-Arabu and not Al-Badawi or Badawiyun..
