what is the bigest reason for you not believing in the hadith?
Kaiokenred:
Give arguments hadiths are stupid?

Our own Kaiokenred is an arrogant child because he is a child. But I have all the respect for him because in many ways he is much more wise than most of us when we were 14 years old. At least compared to myself, all I thought of was how to get laid and how to not to get caught smoking in school. Kaikonred is already at his mere age trying to find the right path.

Peace Emil,
Thank you for correcting me. I agree that I did not use the best of approach to tell him about his argument. I did not act according 41:34. May I also remind you that being a child has nothing to do with logic:
--- Quote ---They said: We heard a youth called Ibrahim speak of them. Quran (21:60)

Ah, he already posted while I was typing my reply. I'm sorry I didn't want to upset you. With good arguments I meant objective arguments (i.e facts) not opinions. Kevin has set a good example of such an objective argument:
--- Quote from: KDC501 on October 29, 2011, 01:18:32 PM ---I only started Islam 5 years ago. I studied hadiths momentarily till I realized that hadiths had too many contradictions. Hadiths and Sunna are very dangerous. With these books people can formulate any type of sect, forbid what God has allowed and allow what God has forbidden. In addition the Quran is quite clear that the Quran is the ONLY teaching to be followed.
69:38 I swear by what you see.
69:39 What you do not see.
69:40 This is the utterance of an honorable messenger.(What is 'the utterance'??? )
69:41 It is not the utterance of a poet; rarely do you acknowledge.(The Quran is considered poetic so the utterance is the Quran and NOT hadith and sunna)
69:42 Nor the utterance of a soothsayer; rarely do you take heed.
69:43 A revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
69:44 Had he attributed anything falsely to Us.
69:45 We would have seized him by the right.
69:46 Then, We would have severed his life-line.
69:47 None of you would be able to prevent it.
69:48 This is a reminder for the righteous.
Peace,
Kevin

Speaking of hadiths and people who believe in them

The first post says:
Dear parents, brothers and sisters
DON'T LET YOUR CHILDREN, BROTHER'S AND SISTERS PARTICIPATE IN THIS PAGAN HOLIDAY ( :rotfl: )
Halloween's day is coming [ Devil's holiday ]. The youth is anxiously waiting for this day so they can be devils in groups. It's your fault, OH PARENT, know that you will give account to your Creator for what your children do. Stop your children so they do not worship the devil and make Allah mad.
Student of Allah:
Shalom,
Probably because the very idea of writing up or collecting hadiths contradict the message from God.(2:78-79)
I always try to see both sides of the story. However, this student of Allah never really understood how "obey the messenger" can mean to obey the 6 canonical hadith collections, 4 imams along with your personal favorite scholar UNLESS these people are all messengers of God. If "obey Allah and obey the messenger" means to follow 2 different sources, doesnt that make the messenger "All knowing....thus DIVINE" ? I never really understood how all that can be summarized as "Monotheism" in the Traditionalist's dictionary.

Thanks

There is too much contradiction between Sunni/Shia Islam and the Quran. Hadiths are many and there are many hadiths that may not contradict the Koran but unless you are bothered to sift through the hadith canons. But why bother?
I think it has more to do with the Islamic sects and their doctrine than individual hadith.
