My PERSONAL conclusions about salaat (contact prayer)
Insh’Allah in this post I will show my latest and, I hope definitive, conclusions about the salaat, or contact prayer, as I understand it.
I emphasize that these are just my PERSONAL conclusions, based on my own study and observation, and not a recipe or recommendation for anyone.

This post contains some links, followed by posts of photographs.

I do not intend to start this as a thread for discussion, but as a small contribution to this Forum.
Therefore, I direct all of those who would question or discuss my views, to post them in other topics for discussion of the threads for salaat:

Thank you.

First of all, as I am coming from Judaic and Christian background, I accepted Islam only after examining the mathematical proof of the Quran discovered by late Dr. Rashad Khalifa, PhD.
Even before then, I felt that the Quran is very important and crucial Book, so I have been studying and reading it.
Nevertheless, I fully accepted Islam only after reading the R. Khalifa’s translation of the Quran, with his Appendices.
Then I started performing the religious duties, particularly the salaat-contact of course, as instructed by same Mr. Khalifa.

I did it for a prolonged time, very diligently, and punctually, and felt real benefits thereof.

And then, a few weeks ago, I came across the book “Mental Bondage in the Name of God” by Aidid Safar.

And it shook me completely!

When I’ve read what he had to say about the meaning of the word salaat and his interpretation of the “ritual”, I felt as a donkey and a fool, who was lulled into some kind of misleading nonsense!
As the confusion grew, I stumbled upon other texts stating that salaat prayer, known also as being named “namaz”, was almost imposed in the past by a woman (!), some Zoroastrian princess, and THAT really made me angry!!!

--- Quote ---The later Persian Imams built upon this plagiarised tale and formulated the current Namaaz. They received strong support from the Persian Zoroastrian mother of Khalifa Haroon Rasheed, Khaizran (d. 789 CE). Haroon’s Zoroastrian viziers, the Baramika, were only too happy to join hands with the royal mother, Khaizran.
So, it was she in concert with others who “canonized” Namaaz according to the desires of the Criminal Imams in (787 CE). Her main philosopher was Imam Al-Khalil bin Ahmad Shikoh, the first ever compiler of Arabic to Persian dictionary, Al-’Ain.
Khaizran spent a fortune on her project and distributed one million gold coins and 65 million silver coins among her new subjects (subjugated- subject to the dictates of another) to propagate and institute the ‘canonized’ Namaaz.

So I stopped performing the “choreographed” ritual prayers completely!

Meanwhile, I started researching almost everything anybody had to say about salat on this Forum. I got myself into the discussions about whether it is 3 or 5 times a day, whether salaat means just a mental “link” or a ritual, or,  merely a “commitment” to God, etc, etc.

During those two or three weeks while I ceased making contact-salaat, I felt as if I was missing something important. Therefore, I started asking God mentally, to give me a sign, and to somehow tell me, whether I should continue making contact 5 times a day as before, or just understand the word salaat to be a mere “commitment”, or just a “link”, to God.

Thankfully, that sign came, in the form of two very vivid and clear dreams, of which I shall spare you the narration, because, as a trained psychoanalyst, I know well enough how boring retelling dreams can be.
The message of the dreams, and the signs, were very clear to me: -yes, do continue to make contact-salaat, as instructed by Dr. Khalifa, 5 times a day!
(Previously to all that, a very powerful dream with a message about the Hereafter made me abandon psychoanalysis altogether, because of its atheist-based system, and accept Islam fully).

To summarize, as I took up again making the real salaat-contact, I confirmed it with further proofs of the practice of the 5 daily contact-salaats as explained by Mr. Khalifa, and became convinced that salaat is NOT a prayer, but a disciplined deed that allows us to come in contact with Allah/God, and elevate our conscience for the nourishment of our souls. But only if performed as the Messenger of the Covenant teaches it, since he purified both the translation of the Quran and Islamic practices from traditions and folkloric aberrations.

(On the other hand, the prayer i.e. DUA, is something else, and it can be done any time, and for whatever need or reason, and is not to be mistaken or interchanged with the contact-salaat).

Having started again to perform 5 daily contact-salaats, I feel the benefits again, and now I have the conviction that if practiced as Dr. Khalifa taught; they are the very important means to draw us nearer to God.
