"Changing People's Mind gently" in methods of without forcefully causing injury, loss of property.

Opening;

Material
In my experience, so many words even it is about reproducible scientific fact couldn't change People's Mind since, its just words. Especially religious people including Atheist.

On the other hand, I have more success using material proof.

That is why Vladimir Lenin, an Atheist worked on Leninism economics that provide necessities to gain support.

Franklin D. Roosevelt, a Christian worked on "New Deal Economics" that provide USA the ability to be the top superpower of the 20th century.

Sunni, their zakat system and oil sale money to buy material and people.


Clearly Majority of People are Influence by Materials.
Take note whoever provide the most material comfort is the winner on Earth.

Words
Changing people with words, first of all prevent using words that will automatically close their mind. For example "you're wrong". Instead Fuel their Curiosity, Breeds it, Nurture it, Feeds it. Invite them to express why they think like it. From that Expression discuss it, not argue, elaborate, not conjecture. Its for Expanding their mind, making it more Open  for relating Ideas. Relating Ideas is not adding Ideas, but Ideas similar to the expression. Once all friendly, injecting Ideas have higher chances than before.

Truth is open for all those who seek it. The world is perfect, the only real task is to change yourself.

Many a time when I was younger and less open to thought I came into contact with people who held the kind of views I do now. I was looking for exactly the knowledge that they had but I didn't know it at the time. I dismissed those people and went on about my day.

Could anything have opened my mind there and then? Somehow I doubt it. Knowledge and change is a two way thing, it requires trust. If there is no trust the mind recieving it will be suspicious of it and closed off. Hence why the idea of influencing people with materials works. It wins over their trust amongst other things. But to be honest it wins over mostly hypocrites.

Couldn't agree more..

Ideas proposed by many great people of the past prevails over time not because they manage to give a lot of 'material support', but yet due to the people eventually accept it because it's true or at least better than the 'old ideas'. Ranging from Abraham's 'monotheism', Indian's karma system,  Ancient indo-european people concept of 'infinity' and ''nothingness',  Newton's mechanics, Einstein's relativity, Greek's democracy, Chinese's 'balancing of all things in harmony', Cyrus tolerant/non-sectarian systems, classless non discrimination society, slave abolitionism, Mongol's 'meritocracy' etc...

Buying opinion through material support might works only for the short term. As time progress; people shall evaluate whether such ideas are closer or further from the truth and shall make a 'corrective' decision which aligned to their context or problem that they're trying to solve at that time.

A chinese friend once told me this:
"You can't make flower to bloom in winter but it will when it's spring"..

I don't know which last longer, Words or Material

Both Words and Material done by Franklin D. Roosevelt died in in 1960s. Majority of Americans don't know what Words and Material done by him.


Most of us changes our mind because of Material reason. Including the Well being of Our Body (Human body is a Material, Made up of Matter).

I see many People here plant, grow their own food. They know it will protects their mind from bribes of immorality(Stealing food, causing loss & injury).
