Open letter to Moderators, publishers and Brother Layth
(1/1)
Emil:
Dear all
I have the outmost respect and love for you all, especially brother Layth who I find truly amazing. I read the articles and I find them logical and well written. I have nothing to say except thank you for existing :hail
However, there is something which you may help me with, or at least I would like to point out something that you may or may not have realized.
In the muslim community I (as well as many other brothers and sisters members on f-m) am pretty alone. In my case my community consists of sunni. Although they are sunni most of them are very liberal and open for discussion without anger. They are not hard-core in any way, most of them anyways. I cherish and appreciate the many discussions we have about almost every aspect of islam. It is rewarding but sometimes :brickwall:
Anyways, because I am not the most retorical person in the world and I definately do not have the ability to write I would love to say "Look, read this article or check out the f-m homepage. There you will find with better words I am able to speak and a better explanation than I can explain of my way of thinking."
Sadly, I cannot. A traditional brother/sister who believes in the sunni way but still is interested to learn stops reading the QA message quite rapidly. Why? because in many opening paragraphs their scholars and their way of thinking is ridiculed. Once they read that their curiousity turns to disbelief, and then the message is lost on them (N.B. I am not referring to the f-m forum)
For example under the heading "WHAT ABOUT OBEYING THE MESSENGER?" it says;
"The gravest crime the self-appointed scholars who claimed to be Muslim made was to give authority to the traditions (Sunna) and the books of Sayings (Hadith) ALONGSIDE the authority of God and His messenger."
If somebody would write something similar like that about, for example, brother Layth I would not take the author's message seriously. I would probably stop reading completely.
I am writing this with outmost respect for you all, and I love you guys. I am not asking you to explain or reason or to change anything. All I am asking is just a minute to contemplate over my concern.
Layth:
Dear Emil,
You humble me with your words - I am but a servant of the Almighty as we all are.
With regards to the articles, any that are written by me I would be glad to amend if you were to point them out - as for the rest, each author has to agree to any changes that are to be made.
As a footnote: remember that God is the guide, if He choses, a person will see the light regardless of the content, if he does not guide, then they are blinded no matter what (recall Abraham did manage to make his people see reason, but then they all reverted to their old ways after a short while).

Peace, Just sharing my thoughts
Comfort & Security, Mentally & Physically.
1. Changing people's mind, attacks will cause them to close their mind, attacks is a threat to their Comfort & Security of their Mind. I use rhetoric although its difficult to construct, but it does penetrates deep in one's mind, planting curiosity.
example;
When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me. Quran 43:63
Then, We gave Musa (Moses) the Book [the Taurat (Torah)], to complete (Our Favour) upon those who would do right, and explaining all things in detail and a guidance and a mercy that they might believe in the meeting with their Lord. Quran 6:154
Christians interpreted Quran 43:63 from as "Obey Bible", what verse to refute it?
2. Physical Comfort & Security, the Quran itself stated even with all of its words, cannot change some one's mind. Most people Follow and Obey those whose feeds them, some literally.
[2:61] And remember ye said: "O Moses! we cannot endure one kind of food (always); so beseech thy Lord for us to produce for us of what the earth groweth, -its pot-herbs, and cucumbers, Its garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Will ye exchange the better for the worse? Go ye down to any town, and ye shall find what ye want!" They were covered with humiliation and misery; they drew on themselves the wrath of Allah. This because they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah and slaying His Messengers without just cause. This because they rebelled and went on transgressing.
Plant, Grow, Farm Food and Feed People is one way to change People's Mind.
