From Pentecostal To Traditional Islam to Pure Islam
« on: August 26, 2011, 06:43:32 PM »
Hey everyone! This is a post that I put in another thread. But I decided to just put as it's own separate topic too via copy and paste. I'm a very new Muslim, 18 years of age, and my "girlfriend" is Christian.

I came from pentecostal Christianity. I came to Islam through youtube videos from Dawahaddict. After getting into some debates and then researching Islam on the internet, I became convinced that Islam was the truth. However, at first, I accepted traditional Islam. However, their rules seemed too controlling so I fell out of Islam for a small time. I came back not long ago after reading about the Qur'an only truth in the purest form of Islam. I now believe that the Qur'an is the only God given source of authority in Islam and that the Hadiths and Sunnahs are mostly fabrications.

Peace realitykid,

Welcome! I hope you find truth here.

18 years old, huh? You've been guided early, praise be to Allah. At 18 I remember being a confused, uninformed atheist. At least we made it here somehow.  :)

Hope to see you around, my friend.

May peace be with you.
Now, we must all fear evil people. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good people.

I appreciate the warm welcome. And I too believe that I found the truth early on. :) We all learn at our own pace.

I'm surprised you didn't tell me that dating wasn't allowed in Islam. Someone else did once. Another thing that I personally do not believe as long as premarital sex doesn't occur and as long as people know where we are and what we are doing.

Oh, and one last thing. I do not believe that Rashad Khalifa was a messenger of God at all. I agree with the Qur'an alone, but do not agree with his version of the Qur'an in which two verses are removed. However, I have no problems with fellow Muslims who believe he was a messenger of God and prefer his translation of the Qur'an. As far as I know the two verses he removed have no real impact on the overall message of the Qur'an.

Salam realitykid!

It's great to see more people being guided to true Islam, not the sectarian fabricated version of Islam that so many Muslims practise.

I will turn 18 in two months so we share something in common lol

I too do not believe Rashad Khalifa was a messenger, for the very exact reason. Most users on this site think the same way. As for dating, its my (and most others) opinion that it's perfectly fine as the Quran doesn't oppose this.

Although we have found the Quran as our sole guidance, there are so many questions that I need answering!

May Allah guide us all :)

Assalamu Aleykum!  :yes Yes, I am very much enjoying my journey! I do know that Islam is not the easiest road ever, but I am willing to accept some of its challenges to glorify God alone and to bring peace into my life and into the lives of those around me.

Wa Aleykum Assalam! It's nice to know that we both share some very common ground as far as our beliefs go. Although I am opposed to Traditional (Fabricated) Islam, I do not believe that any of it's followers are any less Muslim unless they have knowledge of the truth and refuse to accept it.

InshaAllah we will be guided by God alone. All of us, including those who believe the false versions of Islam.

Salam realitykid,

Welcome to the forum. Good to see many people every now and then that can come out of the cultural-religious indoctrination in order to hold firmly to the rope of Allah. I am studying Rashad's things. I did not accept him as messenger for multiple other reasons including the reason you gave.

Whenever I get into discussion about Islam with sunnis and traditional muslims, RASHAD KHALIFA comes up. They ask me about the removal of verses and if I consider them muslims. I simply tell them, when you dont perform Hajj according to the many verses of Qur'an, when you dont perform Salat according to the verses of Quran, when you don't fast according to Qur'an, when you dont eat according to the verses of Quran, when you dont punish according to the verses of Quran, etc....why do you ask me to call them kafirs for rejecting only 2 verses of Quran ?

Like you, I am challenging myself everyday to better myself and bring peace into my life and the lives that interact with my life.

PEACE

You know, the hardest part of Islam for me, is the fact that my Christian girlfriend doesn't like it. She likes that I believe in God and that I'm following him. But she wishes I were a Christian too.

Well, no one is perfect. So what right do I have to say someone is not a Muslim based on some minor issues?

In the end, God is the judge. And He will punish those who do evil, and He will reward those who believe in Him and do good.

Tell her that you prefer to remain a monotheist like Jesus and Moses and all other prophets of God :D

(by the way, that line only works if she believes in trinity )
