Do not ask: where is God? Rather ask: where am I?

Peace,
I agree, it is daunting, at times boring to learn grammar and language, at times overwhelming when we think how many years of our lives we have to put in to it, compared to followers of other religions and sects who just go to their scholars or open a translated book and are content, however if compared to lives of the prophets and the believers of their time who were very few compared to other religions, constantly under fear and persecution, revelations coming to them in stages not as a whole book (as far as I know, plz verify), we too are very few, not the favourite of the world, and understand the revelations in stages after research. It is a test of our love for the Beloved, He has sent us a letter encrypted so only the lovers can read, if we want to read it we have to go through the falsifying test, test of time, patience and dedictaion.

I know this sounds selfish, but it is good know that there are others who are traveling a similar path. One of the major concerns I have is about how do I deal with the elements I find more difficult to follow. I think you are further on the path than I, but I just wanted to show you some support. The path to a better way of life is always going to be challenging and one littered with questions, misconceptions and confusion. I feel that it is always important to remember that you have faith, that alone will be your guiding light, now and forever. Allah knows you have faith in him and as long as that is the case then you will search for what is right. perfection is not the goal is it. If we were perefect we would be Allah. Anyhow, I just wanted to give you my support and let you know there are many people traveling a similar path.

Take care.

Salaam all,

Allah knows you have faith in him and as long as that is the case then you will search for what is right. perfection is not the goal is it. If we were perefect we would be Allah.

I think in a different way, I think we have to try to be perfect always.

For me, it is like a school we all are in, some are in primary school, some in middle school, some in high school, then college, the university, etc. But until we try to be perfect in our class [level that we are in] and try to pass the test [as per our level of class], we may not be promoted to another class.

This is how we grow, we have to try for perfection in every class we are in, and we have to pass the test taken at that level by Allah, then only we may proceed to upper classes. If we fail to pass our tests we will remain in the same class for our whole life until we try to go further.

Results will also be dependent on our level of class, if we are in university, we will get rewards as per our level. But, even if a person is in a lower class, but he is good at tests and if there he died, he may get the reward to get pass in results on the Judgement Day, but he may not able to reach the levels of upper class or further.

The school is Islam, our course material is ONLY AlQuraan for all classes/levels, and the teacher is Allah, the best of all.

This is how I understand, your thoughts may differ it.

May Allah guide us all to His only path  :pr

I completely understand what you are saying. For me though I feel that it is about being the best I can. I am only human and was made with all the benefits and pitfalls of that. I was given the ability to know and choose right from wrong. Sometimes I do wrong without realising it though, it is my intentions that are the key. The striving for perfection is important, I do feel that it is our duty to do that, but I think ultimately Allah knows the person and whether they be Muslim, Christian, Jew or any other, it is his or her heart which will tell him who and what we really are.

I wouldn't even know what perfection is, I just want to follow what Allah asks of me and know that when I get it wrong he is there to guide me on the right path.   ;D

Salaam Sensible,

True!  :bravo:

We have to understand what Allah want us to do, how He want us to live, how He want us to behave, etc. We should follow the will of Allah instead of following our wishes, this is the correct path, inshaAllah.

We ask Allah for "AlSiraat AlMustaqeem"

1:6    اهدنا الصرط المستقيم
1:6    Guide us to the straight path.

And here it is:

3:51    إن الله ربي وربكم فاعبدوه هذا صرط مستقيم
3:51    Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so serve Him, this is a straight path.

And also 19:36, 43:64

Agreed :D but I believe that sincerity and honesty is needed.
