How do you do your prayer?
« on: October 12, 2010, 01:22:01 PM »
Salam alaikoem brothers and sisters.

This is how I pray. http://www.submission.org/salat-how.html :pr When I followed the path of the Sunnis in the past, I did my prayers as they did. 5 years ago I was led to the Quran alone. Then I began to pray as I learned from www.submission.org 5 times a day But now I read on a free-minds here that the prayer is 3 times a day. I also read in the Qur'an that the shahada is only la ilaha ilallah. How do you do your prayer, and what time do you pray?

Salam alaikoem  :peace:
[2.255] Allah is He besides Whom there is no god, the Everliving, the Self-subsisting by Whom all subsist; slumber does not overtake Him nor sleep; whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His; who is he that can intercede with Him but by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they cannot comprehend anything out of His knowledge except what He pleases, His knowledge extends over the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of them both tires Him not, and He is the Most High, the Great.

peace,

Many, perhaps most, long term members here do not regard salat=prayer.
All information in my posts is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should seek knowledge and verify: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

Wa alaikum assalam

Amazigh there seems to be a lot of variation. Some pray 2 times, others 3 and I've just begun to pick up that (as Wakas mentioned) so don't consider it as strictly due to their translation of Quran. I'm sure I read something about that on here, but I could be wrong as I've been reading a lot lately from different sources.

If you go to search and perhaps search ''salaat'' and variations on it you should come up with a number of posts that will be helpful as well as a bit confusing if you're anything like me.

Salam,

Thank you for your reply.
I asked this to you because I want to find out how properly to do the salat. When I was in the way of the Sunnis, I did the salat differently, many additions to the salat and the prophet Muhammad in shahada. When I was later convinced of God alone, I followed submission.org, I did not know that this is wrong. Now I have found free-minds and feel at home here. As long as I have not found how to do the salat, I'll do that as I do now. Surat Al-Fatiha alone without addition, shahada la ila ilallah, I never add more partners to Allah :&. I will explore more in the Koran and share that with you inshallah. May Allah give us more knowledge.

The shahadah in the Quran is la ilaha illa allah . Salat is 3 times a day , it is mentioned in the quran in several suras , morning salat ( al sobh ) before sunrise and the afternoon ( maghrib ) before sundown , the night salat is any time during the night or before bed . the salat is performed , according to the quran and the proof is there, is by reading the quran only ( not like sunnis and shia'a do ) . anyone want a proof can find it in the quran . salam :yeah:

salam for all, please Nour ali, give us the verses refering to 3 prayers in quran, i see only 2, the fajr and the icha, as for the isha it ends at dusk, see 24:58, ......after salat al isha...., simply indicate that the time of isha has an end.
for amazigh, ame very happy to see an amazigh in free-minds, God willing you will find the reel way to pray within the quran, trust God He is the best teacher. i direct you to download the tool of research: www.zekr.org the winqt2.exe at submission.org.
peace up on who follow the guidance.
