Deliberate Mistranslation?

I found a rather interesting translation of [5:3] in the English Translation of Quran by Dr. Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din Al-Hilali (Ph.D.) and Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Kan:

Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al-Maytata (the dead animals - cattle-beast not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine, and the meat of that which has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah, or has been slaughtered for idols etc., or on which Allah's Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering, and that which has been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by the goring of horns ...

the red part was not within brackets/parenthesis but included as the text of Quran.

Other well known translations:

--- Quote ---YUSUF ALI: Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah; that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death...

MUHAMMAD ASAD: Forbidden you is carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that which over which any name other than God's has been invoked, and the animal that has been stangled, or beaten to death, or killed by a fall, or gored to death...

Is there any basis for the Doctors' translation?
I am shocked by the audacity of these people to insert their own opinions into the text of the English translation of Quran.

I received a free copy from the alharamain site (don't know if it still exists) a few years ago.

I noticed also that it's the only verse where that part is not within brackets (see 6:118-121 and 6:145).
Maybe they forgot  :? .

Another clear example of inserting own opinions can be found in verse 4:157 of the same
"Interpretation of the meanings of the Noble Quran".

The actual text:

Hurrimat AAalaykumu almaytatu waalddamu walahmu alkhinzeeri wama ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi waalmunkhaniqatu waalmawqoothatu waalmutaraddiyatu waalnnateehatu wama akala alssabuAAu illa ma thakkaytum wama thubiha AAala alnnusubi waan tastaqsimoo bial-azlami thalikum fisqun alyawma ya-isa allatheena kafaroo min deenikum fala takhshawhum waikhshawni alyawma akmaltu lakum deenakum waatmamtu AAalaykum niAAmatee waradeetu lakumu al-islama deenan famani idturra fee makhmasatin ghayra mutajanifin li-ithmin fa-inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun.

The text in bold is the phrase concerned.  I guess there are mistranslations. 'Wa al-munkhaniqatu' does not contain the text 'Allah's name mentioned while slaughtering'.

AMS377:
reading these authors' translation of 6:145 shows that they may have forgot to put the highlighted portion above in parenthesis/brackets. Still, these translators take much liberty in "bracket usage" elsewhere.

YES!! I have seen this one too, and thought exactly the same. Also check out what Yusuf Ali writes in brackets after translating 'yawn al jummuah' as Friday prayers.

These people know what they are doing, IMO.
