I must say, it pretty amazing going through this thread, reading posts of past members who don't visit anymore. And of course the jobs/profession each of these members have. ;D Heres hoping some of them come back to the forum. :)

As for me, I'm just a college student. 8)

I am a homeopath and a part owner of a newly opening earth-friendly, organic foods + coffee cafe.    :sun:

I am thus 'self-employed'.

:yay:  - that is practically my dream job (but without the coffee and with aromatherapy instead)

Praise God I have had the opportunity to be an educator all my working life. I have worked with all different age groups - adults, university, preschool (the best!!), primary and high school teenagers (AAAH never again!!)and in many different positions - advisor, inspector, liaison officer, teacher / tutor /lecturer, project leader, and now early childhood education development.

My passion for the past 20 years has been organics and the development of a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. Establishing alternative economies (in my hometown I belong to a local co-operative that pools funds and does not charge interest for any money used) so we don't need to borrow from banks, becoming reasonably self sufficient in power, water and organic food (we have a community food forest and gardens), recycling of water and waste.   God willing in a few years when I have paid off the mortgage on my house, I will do my diploma in aromatherapy and then do volunteer work in a developing country to share my knowledge & skills in both early childhood education and sustainabilty.

Salaam, Brother.  :peace:

Are you still running it?

Would you like to share suggestions or tips for running your business?

I'm interested in this kind of business (I love making jewelry/accessory for kids, girls/teenage, & women).

Thanks.

Salaam Java,

Yes, I do. In fact I into imitating gold and diamond jewelry. Any also imitating our old traditional jewelry that is very expensive making in gold. But because of competition, everyone does make them in gold and who cannot, they come to me to make an imitation of the same  :)

I also trade all types of other jewelry [not fancy] like necklace sets, finger rings, ear rings, chains, malas, pearl sets, etc. etc. Most of the items are used precious or semi-precious stones and real pearls. Only the base item is copper/silver instead of gold.

These jewelry cannot be made at home, it has to go through almost 6 different process, like moulding, cleaning/finishing, stone fitting, cuts making to make jewelry shine, polishing, fitting... some others may need more processing.

Hope this may help you understand inshaAllah.

Don't worry. I will get my wedding dress from either one of two designers based in Mumbai or Chandigarh, and then I will come to you and we can decide on jewellery.
