Introduce Yourself / how I found the truth ...
« on: April 20, 2005, 09:57:00 AM »
hmmm

reading this forum has been an "interesting" experience. I've read fascinating posts and been learning a lot. I'll just politely say that many statements have shocked me. But at the end we must find the truth by ourselves and with what God has blessed us with, n'est ce pas?

I think I'll take a break. And maybe come back.

May God help us all to be better people.

General Issues / Questions / homosexuality, the way forward?
« on: April 14, 2005, 12:40:38 AM »
I think people put too much thought into the homosexuality issue. To be honest it's starting to annoy me very much. And by the way it's not that there are more homosexuals these days. I believe they've always been a minority it's just that they're being more VISIBLE.

There are things that we cannot understand (or not meant to understand) no matter how many debates and arguments we create. All I'm saying is let's move on. I go to different message boards and people seem to obsessed with this issue everywhere and persistence makes them write the most ridiculous things I've ever read. People are putting too much thought into this, as if it's a matter of life or death  I mean it's good to try and understand but don't go crazy over it.

this is not particularly directed to you but to everyone by the way. I'm just venting here.

carry on ...

General Issues / Questions / I have a question
« on: April 03, 2005, 10:48:14 AM »
what happens if one wishes to marry someone who doesn't belong to any religion. Like a person who says s/he believes in God but doesn't follow any doctrines but just prays to God only?

Discuss Latest News/Events / The Pope
« on: April 03, 2005, 10:44:15 AM »
The weird thing is I was quite sad when I learnt that they were giving him the last rites. I used to be catholic and although I never really cared about the Pope and rulings anyway, this news really saddens me.

May God have mercy on him.

When I have an issue or a problem I turn to the Qu'ran only.
You mean God.

Peace Zenje,

Yes I meant God, sorry  :)

The way I see it ... Hadith can be interesting but only in a historic perspective. I just read it for leisure I guess, also to get an idea of how things were then. hadith has no more value than that

But really the Qu'ran only has authority in spiritual matters. When I have an issue or a problem I turn to the Qu'ran only.

wow so much ignorance from those guys. That's what saddens me the most. I can't believe that other guy actually searched for a hadith justifying violence and aggresiveness. I'm sure that in another context that same guy will tell people that Islam is not a violent religion. see what hadith does to people ...

Peace,

After all the various information and research on the subject of the 'origins of the Scripture', I am pleased to announce that the QT has been modified to become more in-line with the believed original form of the revealtion.

http://www.free-minds.org/quran/ (on-line)
http://www.free-minds.org/QT.zip (download file)

Updates have also occured to various subjects/verses based on comments/observations.

If I have missed an update or comment, please post it here.

I have a question about the print version. When will it be available to retailers? I wanted to order a copy from Amazon uk and it's shipped within 24hrs but it looks like the older version.

Thanks

Ansar,

Since when did rejection of hadith = rejection of the prophet Muhammad? since you claim to be inteligent you'd see that giving all authority to the Qu'ran is aknowledging the prophet's role as a messenger. Following the Prophet means accepting the word of God, not treating the messenger like a divinity.

What I never understood is your insistance on following what scholars have said or taught. God is merciful and gave you brains. I think you've got a duty to use them instead of relying on others.

I hope you accept the ruth one day

peace.
