Hadith Discussions / Re: shahada hadith?
« on: August 30, 2009, 12:17:56 PM »

The fake hadith regarding the Shahadah says: One day Abu Hurairah went to the people and told them that the Messenger had authorized him to go and tell them to recite the Shahadah “ash hadu anlaa ilaha illallhu wa ash hadu anna muhammadar-rasulullah”. Another version reads ” muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu”. The first person Abu Hurairah came across to give the Shahadah was Saidina Omar (later the second caliph). When Omar heard it he promptly punched Abu Hurairah in the chest and knocked him to the ground. Then Omar put his foot on Abu Hurairah’s neck and asked him how dare he utter such a blasphemy.
Abu Hurairah (who is recorded in the hadith as having received quite a few beatings from Omar during his lifetime) then cried out and named the Messenger as his authority. When again challenged by Saidina Omar, Abu Hurairah pulled out a pair of leather slippers and showed them to Omar. The slippers, he said, were given to him by the Prophet, as proof of what he was saying. Recognizing the prophet’s slippers, Omar simmered down. Everyone then happily started reciting the shahadah.

Sunni/Shia Religion / Re: Sufis

No, actually it's not.  I don't believe that Sunnis or Shi'ites are Muslims since they use sources for their beliefs that are not required and whose authenticity and accuracy are unknown.  I asked for some information about the Sufis because I am not familiar with their beliefs and practices.

Peace Dear Bosnian Thinker,

I was very intersted on Bosnia and Islam in Bisnia. I am also very attracted to Sufism.
There is a famous Sufi in Bosnia, in Sarajevo : i think that he is Sinan (he has a shrine there,  or a moske)

Sufi are not Suni not Shii. Most of them are attached to Ali (Ali was the holder of the esoteric teaching of Mohammed).
They beleive that there is a hidden meaning in Coran, unlike the wahhabi and other extremiste, they try to explain Coran in more spiritual way, not at all materialsitic.

For them (and for me also) all what is material is just illusion, the only tru existance is God !

Sunni/Shia Religion / Re: DRINKING ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED IN ISLAM
« on: August 24, 2009, 01:25:15 PM »
Salam Maria,

The reasoning above would not be consistent with the rest of the Quran.  Let me explain why I believe the khamr is not allowed or is "haram":

I am sure you would agree with me if I say if A is equal to B and B is equal to C, A would be equal to C , wouldn't you?

Now in Quran, we are told in verse 7:33 that "hurima" (made haram) any "ithm". And in verse 2:219 , we are told there is "ithm kabeer" (BIG ithm) in khamr.  So what would be the logical conclusion?  Please note that I did not translate any words but kept them in Arabic to avoid shifting the subject through all kinds of elaboration and philosophy around the translations we tend to see on this forum.

Peace.  Myr.

Peace,

I am Amayas, a Coranist from North Africa. I used to be on some coranist forum, but i was kept away these last months (years) because of personal reasons. here i am back :)

So, aboit Alcool and Wine, Beer ... i was sur that it's forbiden (illicit, haram) but actually, i am sur that it isn't, its not forbiden, and God only forbids.

Deas sister, your logic is good, but just that you didn't apply them correctly in this case.

in your cases A, B and C, you are confusing betwenn Khamr, Ithm and the Ithm in the Khamr. And the ithm in the khamr that is forbiden is beeing drunk and intoxicated.
It's clear, simple and evedent. The ithm in the khamr is to get intoxicated, and God forbide it.

ALcool, was not forbiden in time of Jesus or the other jewish prophets, so how can the prophet do Ithm?
The prophet do drunk alcool, but never do ithm = never became drunk

i am not sur if i am clear, but it seem clear in my minde :)

i'll try to explain better next time if some one is confused.

Also, why alcool is not forbide, nor are the fermented drinks ... do you know that there is alcool in fermented milk? and Mohammed was drinking it ... so how can you explain this?

the only excite and the only way to stay coherent, is to accept that ht eforbiden, the ithm is to get intoxicated.

Brothers and sisteds are citing people that got harmed by drinking wine. I'll cite people that got killed by cars, by water, bycycle, ... every thing  can kill. every thing has a benific side and bad side, it's a natural law. But our minds that god asks us to use help us to get our way in this universe.
