Matrimony / I'm Engaged!
« on: August 31, 2012, 11:47:08 AM »
Salam Everyone,

After awhile of not being here I have returned to announce that I have found my future spouse and we are engaged to be married thank God!  :sun:

She is a devout Muslim, Sunni yet very moderate and extremely tolerant of other people very non-judgmental. I know everyone thinks a Quranist and a "traditional" Muslim can't mix, and I believed that too, but I have come to find out that is not the case. We have a deep respect for each other and tolerance of our differences in view points and we have far more in common than we what we differ on.

She is absolutely wonderful to me and I feel extremely blessed to have met her. Keep the faith for those of you who are looking! God may bring something wonderful to you when you least expect it.  ;)

General Issues / Questions / A Few Questions for S.O.L. Adherents
« on: May 06, 2012, 03:06:58 PM »
I have a few questions for adherents to SOL's theologies.

The main argument being presented is that Hadith writers managed to completely change the Arabic language roughly 1200 years ago, without anyone noticing, and that by doing this they completely changed and corrupted the Quran's message to mankind and a few gifted, blessed and rightly guided people are here to correct mankind's complete ignorance of the nature of God and our purpose here.

This false premise has far greater implications than just misunderstanding the Quran and it's message. It reaches all the way back to Adam. The Quran's most basic and fundamental message is to acknowledge God and to serve Him alone and to observe His Commandments. This is not a new message. It is the same core message that was given to Adam and every Prophet and Messenger sent by God yet Abdun Nur and his theologies would claim the true message has been lost and corrupted and unknown to mankind starting not with the Hadith writers, but with Adam.

Lets look at SOL's translation of 1:5  Be aware, we do not want you to be servants and worshippers; therefore you shall keep yourself clear of this pain in future.

The Quran states it was sent, among other things, to confirm not just that the previous Scriptures were sent by God but also to confirm what remains of revealed Truth in them. Their 1:5 is completely antithetical to everything in every Scripture previously revealed to man and contradicts every Prophet and Messenger ever sent.

There is no Revelation that exists, nor has it ever been taught or known among previous generations that the foundation of Islam since Adam is there is no God and that we are Commanded NOT to be servants or worshippers of The Most Gracious. No prayers. No rites. No repentance. No imploring. No asking for help. IF their 1:5 was true or accurate with its commandment implications just listed, it means the world has never known God and the world has been denied the most basic, core Truth of Him and what's required of us by Him.

It means Adam, Noah, Abraham, Lot, Moses, Jesus and Muhammed etc, during their respective times revealed NO truth about God but taught the exact opposite of Abdun Nur and SOL. It means there is NO truth left in any Scripture like the Torah, Injeel, Psalms, Old Testament, New Testament or any translation of any scripture because none of them have the supposed "truth" of SOL's 1:5 and their theologies. Seeing as the Quran states it has the same core Message as ALL other Scriptures and confirms the Truth in them, eliminating all correct and true teachings and understandings of God since Adam is quite impressive for Hadith writers of 1200 years ago.

How is that possible? How is it possible that mankind has never known or understood God? How is it possible that SOL's core theologies are not found in any previous Scripture, to my knowledge?

Lastly, taking their 1:5 translation as correct, it creates a paradoxical contradiction that Prophets and Messengers are serving God by delivering His messages to NOT serve or worship Him, thereby disobeying the commandment they are sent with! How does that work?

Explanations welcome as long as there are no red herrings or personal attacks. Please just use the Quran's verses, examples and Principles to explain your side. Thanks.

General Issues / Questions / "Witchcraft" and "Sorcery"
« on: December 06, 2011, 02:03:48 PM »
Salam,

What are the Arabic words/meanings of the words translated as "witchcraft" and "sorcery"? What do these things entail?

I have been having discussions with some people about things like horoscopes, psychics and tarot cards and I told them I thought they were flagrantly idolatrous but they disagree. I told them a Believer would turn to God Alone for guidance and direction and not those things I mentioned.

Am I wrong here?
