Matrimony / I'm Engaged!
« on: August 31, 2012, 11:47:08 AM »
Salam Everyone,

After awhile of not being here I have returned to announce that I have found my future spouse and we are engaged to be married thank God!  :sun:

She is a devout Muslim, Sunni yet very moderate and extremely tolerant of other people very non-judgmental. I know everyone thinks a Quranist and a "traditional" Muslim can't mix, and I believed that too, but I have come to find out that is not the case. We have a deep respect for each other and tolerance of our differences in view points and we have far more in common than we what we differ on.

She is absolutely wonderful to me and I feel extremely blessed to have met her. Keep the faith for those of you who are looking! God may bring something wonderful to you when you least expect it.  ;)

Forget God. People don't care if you are blasphemic against God.
But hell breaks loose when you are blasphemic against the egos and rulings of the human beings that have "authority". THAT is really unforgivable and you'll end up chopped to pieces.
Who cares about God? Not many of the religious people at least. They just care that you conform to their sect standards and not hurt the egos of the sect leaders. Astaghfirullah.

Of course there is freedom of choice.

But the wrong is wrong and the right is right if  GOD has defined it as such.

I am not imposing anything on anyone.
Peace.

Of course on the first two statements but on the last one, if you were in a position to write and enforce laws on society, can you/we morally deny nonbelievers or homosexuals the right of entering into any legal contract they wish too?

  Please can someone email me and tell me how to post a previous post that I am replying to.

Salam Lena,

Press the "quote" button on the top right of the post you are replying too.

As for the Arabic Quran mentioning One God

"O my fellow inmates, are various lords better, or God, the One, the Omniscient?" (12:39)

See also similar statements and concepts in 11:52, 2:21,22,29, 10:67, 2:163, 16:22, 18:110, 21:108, 41:6 and many others.

But that is not what i think, of course we should punish homosexual acts, because that comes under adultery. What i meant is, there is no punishment for simply being a homosexual. Now the real question is can people of the same sex marry? I don't think so.

Allow me to play "devils advocate" here for a minute. A Marriage is actually two things. It is a spiritual union between a man, woman and God but it is also a legally binding contract.

For the sake of argument, lets agree that God would not bless or approve of a gay "marriage". The real question is does a Government have a moral right to deny two adults from entering into any legally binding contractual agreement?

Can the rights of any people be denied based on sexual orientation, appetites or desires? How would it be moral to tell a couple that they cannot contractually agree to rights of inheritance, visitation, division of property, mixing of property, insurance and tax benefits or penalties, etc? That is the real question.

For me, if I had to make the laws, if I was going to make a mistake in judgement/application, I would want to make it on the side of protecting and guaranteeing rights of people over denying them.

she'll probably think if you are gay!   what's wrong with our society?   :brickwall:

so, guys don't have it any easier huh?

LoL  No we don't. American women can be just as bad and I often wonder if there are any upright, moral, righteous ones out there who are not married and I would be attracted to and who wouldn't be scared off by the simple mention of God or even worse, the term "muslim".  :brickwall:  It's almost as if they talk like they want a good, moral man but the minute they actually meet one, who isn't faking it, they run for the hills! It's frustrating but I trust in God and when they run I will thank Him for it.  :) Probably better off that way.

I stay hopeful though, God willing somewhere, someday, unexpectedly, He will have me meet someone that is right for me and that I am right for her.

Peace logic,
I liked Mirjumnar's comments so I said so. I am entitled to my opinion.
Thanks for the advice, but I never really asked for it. No hard feelings.
Peace.
